Steven Salzberg

Steven Salzberg is an American computational biologist and professor at Johns Hopkins University. He holds appointments in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Biostatistics. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine.

He is one of the most cited researchers in genomics and bioinformatics, with over 300 publications and more than 350,000 citations. His work has had major impact in genome sequencing and analysis, especially in developing software tools like TopHat, Bowtie, and Cufflinks.
